Shahada
The first pillar, the Shahada, Muslim must state their faith by saying, " There is no god but God, and Muhammad is his prophet." Muslims say this when they accept Islam and in their daily prayers.
Salah
Salah, the second pillar, the daily ritual prayer. Muslims must pray five times a day, before sunrise, at midday, in late afternoon, right after sunset, and before going to bed.
Zakat
The third pillar is the Zakat. Muslims must help the poor by giving money, the money also help build mosques, or pay debts. Helping and caring for others is very important in Islam.
Sawm
Sawm is the fourth pillar, it is about fasting which means going without food and drink. Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan. During the Ramadan you will not eat or drink anything between dawn and sunset. They do this to remind them that people in the world who struggle without food and drinks.
Hajj
Hajj, the fifth pillar is a pilgrimage to Mecca. Muslims must travel to Mecca at least once in their life. Muslims go to Mecca to the Kaaba, the most sacred place to worship there.
